Oh Hello stranger, fancy seeing you here, I hope you're having a beautiful day, if you're not sorry about that, Manchester United are allegedly ready to spend up to £40m on a certain Matic, yup that's right, it's not even new news, that ought to brighten up your day.
So it's been quite some time(again) and a lot has transpired in the World of Fooooooooootball, so let's get right into it.
I start the day of by talking about my Dutch friend VAR, he's 6 ft tall, married to every referee in the game and might not be as faithful as we hoped. VAR stands for Video Assisted Referee and it's currently being tested at the ongoing Confederations cup in Mother Russia, it's brought about mixed reactions thereby leading to even more questions than answers. What we do know is that it's employed to aid the referees in decision making. Details are still sketchy but seeing as it's still in its fledgling state, issues like this were expected, it's good for football, I wish it had come sooner.
The transfer Window isn't open until the 1st of July and that's a couple days time and this window has promise, if promise translates to astronomical amounts of money spent on players, then yes, I expect another unspectacular player to break the transfer record and the cumulative transfer cash spent to even go through the roof, football has gone money mad I tell you. Bunkers.
The Confederation cup is winding down, with Chile waiting for either Mexico or Germany in the final and it's actually, surprisingly, mind blowingly been very uneventful. I don't know what they put in the Vodka this year but keep it up, we'll need more of that next year when the real big guns show up. Great job Mother Russia.
