Francis Coquelin is the Man, Xhaka should replace Carzola and what about Rambo?

Arsenal fans are feeling quite optimistic about this season, our squad finally looks like a team capable of competing on all fronts with so many quality players at the Managers disposal, even the most ardent detractor of Arsenal can't deny the obvious quality in the squad, especially in midfield where the manager most certainly has a selection headache.

The transfer window started well for us, we were decisive in our pursuit of Xhaka and got our man early enough, added three young prospects in Takumo, Holding and later Nwakali then later went on to complete deals for Lucas and then Mustafi.

Our midfield is a topic of constant discussion and debates for analysts, pundits and bloggetas, with everyone having an idea of what they view as the better option for different games and I can't help but partake in this and my interest lies mostly at the base of midfield where our options seem to be quite vast, so here I go.

Xhaka-Coq:
I take pride in our possession based style of football and having players that are comfortable on the ball and good passers of the ball and no doubt Carzola ticks all these boxes and so does Xhaka, however, our style of football requires players capable of winning it back as fast as possible, preferably in midfield and in that respect, Xhaka seems like the better proposal along side Coq, who's overall input in matches has greatly improved. No longer just the midfield destroyer that sits back when we spring attacks, now he contributes offensively as well, couple that with Xhaka's ability to shoot from long range and Coquelin's energy to run the full 90 and we'd be a tough side to break down.

Mesut vs Rambo vs Carzola
I know most people won't want to hear this but the truth is that Mesut needs Competition, no only to prevent fatigue but to also keep him on his feet and motivated. No doubt, his vision and passing ability is next to none, but sometimes for certain games we need a player with a different style of player to conduct things from that position and it would be nice to see Carzola or Rambo play there once in a while.

No Giroud No Problem
A lot has been said about Wenger's insistence to play Alexis as our maim striker, with many pointing at the fact that he doesn't get to be with the ball as much and has to depend on the creativity around him or create his own chances but the actual numbers point at the contrary. He's scored 3 goals so far this season and possibly should be 4(missed penalty) and had a hand in two other goals. Of course he most likely will be moved back to the flank but seeing him, Iwobi and Theo run things up front was just a beautiful sight to behold. We were very dynamic up front and didn't have to depend on a point man, so maybe we should cut Wenger some slack.

Give Gibbo Games
I've been clamouring for this for some time now and I'm still going to keep campaigning for him to get some games. Nacho is very astute defensively but sometimes I worry about his pace and with him getting older, I don't see that changing. I hope Wenger will give Gibbo more game time.
