Someone recently asked me what EFL cup is and it occured to me that people don't have intimate knowledge about what the trophy is and what the benefits are of winning it, so I did extensive research(Wikipedia) and will just bring out a few pointers about the cup.

This is the 57th season of the EFL cup, it was formally just League Cup, now it's the EFL(English Football League) cup that comprises of the 92 teams in English football. The winners represent England in the Europa League Third qualifying round. Man City are the current holders.It began on the week commencing 8 August 2016 and concludes with the final on 26 February 2017.The cup does not have a sponsor following the withdrawal of sponsorship from Capital One after four years as the Capital One Cup, but is renamed the EFL Cup after the Football League was rebranded as the EFL.
