Emmanuel Emenike Is Set To Link Up With His Compatriot Victor Moses On a Six Month Loan Deal That Could Become Permanent Depending On His Performances. Let's Take A Brief Look At The 28 Year Old's Career So Far And See If West Ham Have Gotten The Man That Could Lead Them To A Champions League Spot.
Emenike Had A Humble Beginning In Football starting At Non Professional Side, Delta Force In Delta State Nigeria Then Moved On To South African Side Mpumalanga Black Aces in 2008 then moved on to FC Cape town in the same year. He then earned a loan move to Karabukspor in 2009, where he spent three successful seasons and also being crowned the best foreign player in the league on one occasion. His success took him to Fenerbache in may 2011 and in July of the same year he was transferred to Spartak Moscow due to an alleged Match fixing scandal. Though he never played a competitive fixture for Fenerbache. After a successful two year stint at Moscow, he returned to Fenerbache but had a torrid time there, had a falling out with the fans and coach and so was shipped to UAE club Al Ain on a one year deal that was cut short and now he's at the West Ham.
For what its worth, his career has had some good times and bad times but what we can see is that he can be a game changer and inspire his team like he did with the Nigerian National team and at Spartak Moscow and at the same time can be something of a coward, running and hiding at the first sign of trouble like he did when he was having having a goal drought with Nigeria and Fenerbache.
PS: in case you don't know, he retired from the national team because he didn't want people to complain he wasn't scoring.
The hammers have a good player on their hands now and this man can score goals and create them as well, the fans have to be patient and well, they have to be nice, because he'll most likely retreat to his shell at the first sign of discontent. Time as it always does will tell.
