5 things to Learn from LVG Sack

Lvg got canned earlier today, its not a surprise though, he always seemed like the next game was his last game through out the past campaign, here's a few things we could learn from his sacking.

1. YOU CAN'T PLAY BORING FOOTBALL AT THE TOP LEVEL.
For most of the season and most of his reign, united played probably the lamest football among top sides, I mean the possession stats are so misleading. Most times it kinda seemed like the tactics was over bore their opponents till an opening is created.

2. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFICATION IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WINNING THE FA CUP.
In his last match as a united coach, the club lifted the FA cup but in modern football terms, you need to qualify for the UCL to attract the best players. United finished fifth, equal on points with the blue side of Manchester but behind on goal difference but after finishing fourth last season, a better placing was expected this season and he failed to deliver and paid with his job.

3. THE TRANSFER WINDOW IS NOT HIS FRIENDS.
The truth is that the man is better suited at making due with what he has than getting from other teams. Of all the transfers made during the dutch tacticians reign, virtually all were largely disappointing, bar Anthony Martial and then Memphis and Darmian for a short while, the rest were simply shit.

4. King of Young Boys.
Now I know that doesn't sound right but seriously, this man made so many youth players at United into household names. Take players like Lingard, Love, Borthwick-jackson, Blackette, and most importantly the recent Euro-16 contender, Marcus Rashford, all these players and more have blossomed under him.

5 He leaves the club with the same questions he met.
At this point, one wonders if united have actually moved forward or backwards. I mean, united signed him after he took the Oranje to a third placed finished in Brazil against all odds, he did win an FA cup after two seasons, that ain't half bad, though finished fifth and didn't qualify for the UCL but should he be proud of this? Should united build on his work or should there be a squad overhaul?  With Mourinho possibly taking over, what happens to Giggs? And what was Wayne Rooney thinking when he shot this X-men Commercial? Time will answer all these and more.

Mr. Van Gaal has indicated he'll be retiring after this job and we wish him well in whatever endeavours he sojourns to but we will always look bad at the times he spent in England and appreciate his witty and sometimes profound sound bites, his long talks about "Philosophy", he brought us Rashford and chased away Di Maria, and who can forget his legendary dive that made us all laugh; he's a good guy to some, a villain to others but a legend to all, came in with much fanfare and left the same way. Goodbye LVG.
