Luck Of Champions

Another domestic football season has come and gone in Europe, just like most seasons, this season had everything; heartbreaks, upsets, fairytales(Leicester), uninspiring champions (Bayern) and then there is Arsenal.
The perennial sleeping giants are still sleeping, we though we woke up but we were just sleep walking, even in a season where the other "lively" giants were practically dead, we couldn't muster much.
After all is said and done, all the Pizza and beer been fed to foxes and the London sides Minded the gap, the season ended the way it did due to certain factors that can't be ignored. Leicester Fc for all their brilliance had a couple of advantages over their two closest Rivals; Arsenal and Spuds. I would like to state that I am in no way creating excuses for my beloved team or watering down the great feat achieved by the Foxes but just pointing out certain factors that could be ignored.
First of, they thrived under the radar, even when they had spent four weeks on top of the table and had a 10 point lead on Spurs, they didn't stand a chance of Preventing Arsenal or City from taking it from them, they were simply underrated for most of the season and benefited from that tag. Smaller sides didn't prioritise games against them as they would against a certain Chelsea side who were in every respect the exact opposite of Leicester. Smaller sides like Swansea would eventually be overwhelmed by the Foxes because there was no priority game plan for that much while against Arsenal and other big sides, these teams Would have already had a game plan in place at the start of the season.

My second point is one that might not bide well with some, but the foxes did have  butt load of referee decisions in their favour, I mean a lot, from fake penalties and corners to offside goals and unseen handballs, all these in someway aided their seasons.
Another point that can't be overstated is the sheer number of injuries the Leicester side didn't have, I mean who goes through a whole season with only 4 injuries? Its unheard of, but hey, when you have the luck of champions on your side, you do.
I heard someone say "Great men make their own luck" and that's not far from the truth for the Foxes when you consider the fact that this team played 15 games fewer than their closest Competitor, mix that up with fewer injuries, Favourable Referee decisions, More Penalties and on top of all this, still being under the radar and you'll realise it was inevitable for them to be champions.

The 2016/2017 season starts in August and it promises to be the most high profile season in the history of EPL as far as coaching staff goes, The Klopp fever must have been cured at Basel but I expect the Merseysiders to be s thorn, the Prospect of Pep and Mou reigniting their rivalry at Manchester, Chelsea may be down but they certainly aren't out and Conte will ensure that, the Hammers aren't push overs, neither are the Saints, The Spuds would have been champions if they weren't chokers, they'll certainly like to give it a whirl again and  what about the Foxes? Are they going to be a one night stand? and then there's Arsenal, we'll keep our fingers crossed and enjoy the show, hoping lady luck smiles on us this time around. #COYG
