Who's the idiot now? Short case study of Arsenal and Chelsea

The mainstream media treat football fans with a surprising level of contempt and it's evident in the amount of garbage that's written on their platforms in the name of "transfer news". Kicking aside club loyalty and sentiments, if one should take a subtle and sparsely critical look at the sort
of stories that are written you'd observe a pattern fueled absolutely by speculation and next to no intricate knowledge of a club's dealings. Permit me to use Chelsea and Arsenal as two short case studies:

For Arsenal, there seems to be a common consensus obviously purported by the same media that spread the tales that dithering and not wanting to spend the exorbitant sums on transfers is simply a decision made by the manager. A lot of fans and detractors seem to accept this notion. Does Arsene Wenger actually negotiate transfer deals and wages? Better yet, does any manager do this? Or maybe even put this way, what is the role of a football manager? These questions are of course never asked and the mainstream media will of certainly do their best to avoid logic and reasoning when writing because, well refer to my first statement. The theme has of course not changed and in the not so distant future, tales of how Arsenal were v" very close" to signing Riyad Mahrez, Thomas Lemar and any other player linked to the club will simply be used as another leaf to fan the fire of tales that have no factual basis in the first place. As a supporter of Arsenal, you have to deal with this fact and also remember that football is also just a sport and if these fake stories posted affect you emotionally, its advisable that you take a step back and look at things in perspective.

For Chelsea, its a rather current case; this because just like in 2007 when Roman Abramovic went through a divorce and had to settle is partner upwards of £100m, he's going through one now and though this may not put too much of a dent in his £7b networth, the process maybe stressful, time consuming and filled with uncertainties and emotional challenges. Of course this will not be covered by the mainstream media, all the fans want is money to be spent, we don't care about the mental state of the man in charge of the purse strings at Chelsea, just put the blame on the manager and fuck all(permit my French).

The truth is that as long as the media exists, we will never know what the truth is and the facts will be buried in heaps of garbage to ensure the popular narrative prevails because either one of us have to be idiots.
